«Because nothing can thicken and expand forward if it does not have the ability to go backwards as well, something scale alike, I imagine a future will always stand upon generations..

Then I go back to the principles of man.

Through the way our perception works and processes past and present, virtual and reality, through the overlap of senses and our relationship with the world, I see future within the nature of a dancer: in their constant interaction with interval conciliation or emptiness and in their strength against their own fear of not staying still forever in the same place.»

These four constellations, but also the intermediate gaps between them, compose a grid, a technology of relations. They also "knit" the past with whatever the future may look like and speculate about possible points of contact, points of communication of detached and deferred relationships, having distance between them and other which they are in conflict.

Where? On grounds that seem unstable and modified. An artistic platform that changes inclination with any shift from people, a digital site which is organized by their voices and a choreographic practice which develops through the relationships of our body.

In such "scenery" the holy purple today speculates about the nature of man, the nature of his "dance" and that of a work of art (dance).Through the transparency of the dancer and the ways in which he understands, experiences, trains, observes and consequently explores the world, holy purple shares processing modes as opportunities for rearrangements and transformations. As possibilities associated, but not guided to scheme knowledge.

Diary

April of 2021: the group shares their final stage of rehearsals of the dance performance with stage presence | in holy purple in Kypseli Municipal Market, for the purpose of filming.

Meanwhile, their presence in public space includes a series of meetings-discussions on the platform the first circle of the constellation “installation” | turning in holy purple . It is a discussion-game or a game-discussion, one hour long, for 2 guests and 1 member of the team on the platform. It starts with one question given by the team and continues as an open process, while all of them question their weight, their “opinion” weight, the weight of a minority or majority, as well as of all inbetween momentarily balances among a group of people that gather together for a discussion. During the lockdown and in between the rehearsals and the possibility of a performance, the group attracted threads for possible dialogues in the public space. By this way, choreographic practice and questions of the project become invitations beyond the initial working team. The themes are activated by the project.
We are grateful for their participation Kate Adams, Augoustos Veinoglou, Medie Mega, Dimitris Kokkinakis, Aris Papadopoulos, Elpida Rikou, Spiros Tegos, Theofilos Trampouli.

Moreover the digital form of the project | gardening the holy purple is activated from the 20th to the 30th of April where the viewers-users can notify further the project by recording their own voices and leaving their trace. The digital performance questions human presence through the negation of human’s image aki the transition in an environment where user and algorithm, past and presence co-exist.

September 2021: After a long anticipation, but not a pause, the project holy purple is presented in the yard of the Municipal Theater of Piraeus. Ιn September 24th &25th, at 22.30, with the performance hiding in holy purple and in September 26th, from 17.00 till 23.00, followed by the second circle of the constellation “installation” | turning in holy purple that invites audience members to occupy the same performance space. A dance duet and the next day, two participants every 20 minutes.

gardening the holy purple digital project

April 20th till April 30th

The work evolves through the split/divorce between the digital-physical world and presence-absence.It implies somehow to human life, pursuing this trace through the common space of voices. Detached voices, voices whispering or interjections, their gasp for air, their breath, their screaming as well as their silence. It casts out anything alive in those that are related and that communicate their pastness while creating common place with others. Gardening the holy purple puts in practice the choreography research of how a dance performance can exist in a digital environment. Audience members acted upon the project on safety distance by leaving their trace and since then the digital dance performance is ON,free on the internet.

hiding in holy purple dance performance including stage presence

September 24th & 25th, 2021 | 22.30 Venue: Yard of Municipal Theater of Piraeus | Ir.Polytechniou 32, Piraeus, 185 35

Hiding in holy purple is the third performance of the group on this moving platform of 50m2, a ground that changes its inclination according to the transferring of weight of the performers. The choreographer insists on researching the boundaries of a dance performance and on processing conditions in which percipience has access to corporeality. In this performance, she focuses on the nature of a dancer and suggests a journey of five stages for two female performers. Their relations, sometimes isolated, other times delayed or with an emptiness in between or a conflict, invent coordination momentarily. These relations reflect dispositions and motions of relating that emerge within various points of the body. The focus of attention is on relations and not on the things that are related.
Maybe this seems sluggish. Maybe it reminds us of our dreams. Those that what constitutes them are of no importance. What is important is the ways in which these things are related to each other when we are awake.

turning in holy purple installation

September 2021, 26th, 2021 | 17.00-23.00
Venue: Yard of Municipal Theater of Piraeus | Ir.Polytechniou 32, Piraeus, 185 35

Τhe performance space is open for the audience to interact in an installation of the project entitled turning in holy purple.
Two participants each time share the moving platform for 20 minutes, changing its inclination according to participants’ transfer of weight.
How does their relationship unfold itself? What will activate their next step?
Managing and processing their weight and their transfer or dispositions depends on instant decisions that are actually revealed in front of us. While appreciating the responsibility of simply beingness and free themselves through the relation with the other, they discover different dimensions of their body, their relation with space and time and the balance and imbalance of all the above. Anyhow, accomplishing relations with a random partner is inevitable and common place is a necessity for a healthier future, even for a “20 minute one”.
As holy purple is structured on a score of relations, that is movements between two or more points of the body, or two or more dimensions of the body, or two or more different bodies, in between the two performers, in between audience members and performers. The same principle also regulates turning in holy purple. This is an interactive installation that offers the opportunity to everyone to spin around in the purple area. A “purple area” is defined as a disputable area. As a field that is impossible for us to identify where, when and how we are going to find balance and stability while we are in. Every step of us is looking for the ground for support and is influenced by our flexibility in every expectation.
